Privacy policy
Hunker is made by Kineto-Soft (Ugur Akcelik, Turin, Italy, VAT IT12938420010). This policy explains what Hunker does with information on your phone. In short: your app usage stays on your phone. Hunker has no account, no ads, and no analytics or tracking.
What stays on your phone
To work, Hunker uses this information on your phone only. It is never sent to us or anyone else:
- Your list of apps. Hunker reads the apps you can open, so you can pick which ones to block or limit.
- Which app is open, and for how long. With your permission (Usage access), Hunker reads Android's app usage events. It uses them to block the apps you picked during a focus session, to apply your daily limits, and to show your screen time.
- Your screen time history. Hunker saves each day's time per app in a database on your phone, for the history view.
- Your settings. Your blocked apps, daily limits, session lengths and theme.
This information stays until you clear Hunker's data or uninstall it.
Permissions Hunker asks for
- Usage access: to see which app is open, as described above.
- Display over other apps: to show the block screen over an app you blocked.
- Notifications: to show the time left in a session and tell you when it ends.
- Alarms and reminders: to end a session on time, even with the screen off.
- Run after restart and a foreground service: to keep your session and daily limits running.
Each one is optional. You can turn them off at any time in Android Settings. Without them, Hunker works as a plain timer.
Subscriptions
If you buy Hunker Pro, Google Play handles the payment. We never see your payment details. Google's use of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
To check whether you have Pro, Hunker uses RevenueCat, a service that manages subscriptions for apps. RevenueCat receives your purchase details (such as the plan, the purchase token and the subscription status), an anonymous ID that Hunker creates, and basic technical details such as the app version, device platform and IP address. RevenueCat handles this information for us, under the RevenueCat privacy policy. Hunker sends RevenueCat no app usage, screen time or app list.
Deleting your data
On your phone: clear Hunker's storage (Android Settings, then Apps, Hunker, Storage) or uninstall Hunker. This deletes your app list choices, limits, screen time history and settings.
At RevenueCat: email info@kineto-soft.com with the subject "Delete my Hunker data" and your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.). We delete your anonymous ID and purchase details at RevenueCat within 30 days. Google keeps its own record of your purchase under the Google Privacy Policy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your information.
- We don't show ads, and we don't use advertising or analytics tools.
- We don't collect your name, email or contacts.
Children
Hunker is meant for people aged 13 and older.
